A SEQUEL TO THE REALITY BEFORE US

IT IS DEADLY SERIOUS THAN WE THINK

Gerrymandering gave Southern Kaduna—political geography with a population of over four million people the capacity to decide for a single senatorial seat. Skewed citing of polling units practically blocked our possibility of picking the central senatorial seat despite our presence in many LGA there.

As a sequel to the reality before us, we are expected to give our mandate to; an effective, productive, sensitive, and astute persona. A person of Solomon wisdom, the courage of King David, and the faith of biblical Abraham. In clearer language, we need a character with the strength of a lion and a sense of a fox.

Sadly, most are yet to appreciate the fact that we need to cease mandating people without such qualifications to the Red Chamber. Nevertheless, a microscopic few have a full grasp of the crux of the matter but selfishness anchored on some mechanical solidarity is barring them from accepting this reality.

I am not an apostle of doom and negativity but Nigeria of 2023 and beyond will be more confused, divided, and apocalyptic. Methinks, we should consider these variables before surrendering our senatorial seat to anybody. Thank goodness we know them all and their capacities.

I beseech us to stop thinking and acting the old way on this and in other political and electoral decisions.
