Aviation Drama Ends: Comfort Emmanson & Kwam 1 Receive Clemency

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Ms. Comfort Emmanson was involved in an unruly passenger incident on Ibom Airline. Following consultations with the airline, the police, and her legal representation, the complaint against her has been withdrawn.

  • His flight ban has been reduced to one month.
  • The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) will withdraw its criminal complaints against him.
  • FAAN plans to engage KWAM 1 as an ambassador to promote proper airport security protocols.

  • Pilots involved in the incidents, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, will have their licenses restored after a one-month professional reappraisal.
  • The government has mandated aviation agencies to conduct a full retraining retreat for security personnel, focusing on de-escalation techniques and handling disruptive passengers.
  • Airlines will also hold staff sessions emphasising proper conduct towards the travelling public.
