Fulani bandits invaded Ehwakya (Ungwar Sarki), Ugom Community, under Maro Ward, Kajuru LGA, Southern Part of Kaduna State, today 04/01/2026.
At the time of releasing this statement, one youth, Saminu Linus Emmanuel, has been confirmed dead by gunshot. Our people were kidnapped in sizable numbers yet to be fully identified; victims include the young, the elderly, and mostly our vulnerable women, who are now in the custody of the attackers. Before taking off, they also ensured that all available valuable items were looted.
The kidnappings took place in two folds: one inside Ehwakya (Ungwar Sarki of Ugom Community) and another at the rail line after Gwando, along the main road towards the Kufana axis. The attackers were shouting their usual slogans of “Allahu Akbar”, while some of them openly claimed that Nigerian security agencies cannot do anything to them, talk less of us. They further stated that if we want peace, our people must comply with their demands of vacating our own land; otherwise, they will continue terrorising the community until they succumb.
We are once again calling on the government for urgent intervention across the entire Ugom Community, please, before our people are completely eliminated. Three sections of our community have been sacked by the terrorists, leaving our people with nowhere to go.
