PRESS RELEASE
FROM: The National Chairman, Akurmi Youth Development Association (AYDA)
DATE: 12th November, 2025
SUBJECT: Condemnation of the Attack on Gidan Waya Community, Yarkasuwa–Lere Local Government Area, Kaduna State
The Akurmi Youth Development Association (AYDA) expresses deep sorrow and outrage over the recent brutal attack on the Gidan Waya community in Yarkasuwa, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on the night of 11th November, 2025.
This unfortunate incident, which led to the killing of innocent residents and the abduction of several others, including women and children, is highly condemnable and a painful reminder of the persistent insecurity ravaging our communities.
As the National Chairman of the Akurmi Youth Development Association, I strongly condemn this heinous act and call on:
His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State,
The Chairman, Lere Local Government Area,
The Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO),
to urgently take proactive and decisive measures toward ensuring the protection of the lives and property of citizens within the affected communities.
Life remains the most precious gift of God, and as such, every necessary step must be taken to safeguard it. The continuous attacks on innocent citizens in their homes and communities must be brought to an end.
We therefore urge security agencies to intensify surveillance, enhance rapid response operations, and ensure that the perpetrators of this wicked act are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Our heartfelt condolences go to the families of those who lost their lives, and we stand in solidarity with those whose loved ones are still in captivity. We pray for the quick recovery of the injured and the safe return of all abducted persons.
May peace be restored to Gidan Waya and indeed all Akurmi communities.
Signed:
Comr. Idris Inuwa Ukissa
National Chairman,
Akurmi Youth Development Association (AYDA)
