Terrorists Attack Churches in Kaduna State, Kill Worshippers and Abduct Others During Easter Service

A tragic attack has shaken the Ariko community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as terrorists stormed two churches during Easter celebrations, killing several worshippers and abducting many others, including children.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, targeting First ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ariko village. According to local sources, the attackers arrived in large numbers, surrounded the area, and opened fire on congregants during the service, causing chaos and panic.

The councillor representing Awon Ward, Mark Bawa, confirmed the attack, stating that at least seven people were killed, although the exact number of casualties is still being verified. He added that many victims were also taken into the surrounding bush by the attackers.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the assailants not only carried out the killings and abductions but also looted church offerings before fleeing.

The attack has once again raised serious concerns about security in rural communities across the state, especially during religious gatherings.

As families mourn their loved ones and search for the abducted, residents are calling on authorities to take urgent action to prevent further tragedies and ensure the safety of vulnerable communities.
